THE
1 MORE REP
DIFFERENCE
At 1 More Rep, we do things differently. We’re a hybrid training space offering high-intensity strength training, strongman, powerlifting, boxing, spin, Zumba, core classes and more all under one roof.
Our philosophy is simple: you are who you surround yourself with. Here, you’ll find a community that pushes you to be better, supports you when you struggle and celebrates every milestone, big or small.
Whether you’re training for strength, endurance, weight loss or just looking for a supportive place to challenge yourself, our members leave every session stronger and more confident. Our classes are intense, our instructors are experienced and our community is unlike anywhere else in Boston.
Join us and see what it feels like to train hard, be supported and surround yourself with people who won’t let you quit.
JOSE “THE ANIMAL”
Jose “The Animal” Lora is a fitness specialist (B.S. Kinesiology, AAPT) with nearly three decades of experience. His journey started on football fields across Boston where discipline, structure and grit were learned early. Football was both his outlet and his dream with aspirations of playing in the NFL. When a shoulder injury brought that chapter to an unexpected end, Jose had to find a new way forward.
That turning point led him to boxing and fitness, where he could channel his drive and rebuild physically and mentally. He moved from amateur boxing in 2009 to a professional license, winning the Powerhouse Deadlifting Competition, the Arnold Classic Bench Press in 2019 and the Superhuman titles in 2019 and 2020, setting world records in squats, bench press and overhead press. While coaching at Gold’s Gym, Jose gained the experience and clarity to shape his own gym.
In 2015, he opened a small basement studio with only a handful of clients and a simple philosophy: never quit. As the community grew, so did the space, moving from those early basement workouts to a Quincy Street location and eventually expanding into today’s 9,800 sq. ft. gym in Roxbury.
At its core, 1 More Rep reflects Jose’s journey, shaped by setbacks, built through consistency and rooted in community, hard work and showing up every day.
